All of us have heard about the majestic snowcapped Himalayas, isn’t it? Ever thought of traversing and exploring the Himalayas? Well, if it’s your first time trekking and you don’t want to opt for a full-fledged trek at high elevations, we have the perfect package for you! A relatively easy and altitude free trek, the Ghorepani Poonhill trek is definitely unmissable among trekkers. Experience coming face to face with the mountains and the mountains being sun-kissed as the sun rises. Also, get a chance to enlighten yourselves with the awe-inspiring local culture and the humble peoples’ lifestyles.
The lively Lake city of Pokhara is where we will be starting the trek. Ghandruk and Ghorepani, two of the many villages we’ll be crossing are the largest settlements of the Gurung people who are extremely welcoming and down to earth. Through irregular bumpy roads, steep trails, rhododendron forests, and aesthetic terrace farms, we eventually get to the highlight of our trip which is the spectacular and stunning sunrise at Poon Hill.
Destination Unlimited would like to recommend you to venture on this trek all through the year except the monsoon, as this region faces extremely high rainfall during monsoon. Compelled to bring along your children or elderly people? Well, we assure you that the trek is not at all grueling and demanding, rather it is going to rejuvenate and relax you. So, without hesitation, bring along your entire family! With our experienced team, we guarantee that you get what you’ve paid for. Moreover, this trek will definitely be a wonderful memory.
Destination Unlimited was a God send when we were anxious about finding the right agent, given all the stories we heard about dubious agents in Nepal. Ashok was super responsive in helping us plan the trip, highly flexible as our plans evolved, including last minute changes they required us to change the trek. His staff including both the guides (Ganga and Ambhir) and the porters were extremely helpful and took care of us all along. This is very important in Nepal when you are on a trek because the hotels have an interesting model where your guide essentially serves you during lunch or dinner, or if you need any other help during your stay. We were two families with a kid each - do having two guides was extremely helpful because at least one of them needed support during the trek. Highly recommend Destination Unlimited.
I can't speak highly enough of our experience with Ashok/Destination Unlimited. Ashok was always prompt in his responses and helped us arrange everything from airport transfer (even though my friend and I arrived and departed at different times and dates since we live in different parts of the world!) to paragliding in Pokhara. Ashok goes above and beyond his duty as tour operator and even offered to have his wife help me buy a saree for my friend's wedding. We also loved our trekking guide and porter Hari and Rosan. This was overall an excellent experience and we would love to come back for another trek and will definitely use Destination Unlimited again!
Extremely helpful from Ashok and flexible tour guide Ganga. Really did a good job bring us joy and fun, did a 5 days Poon hill trekking, it was not so easy but we made it at last. Everything is arrange properly and meals are flexible for us to choose, of course we can’t expect good in the mountain but all meals are beyond acceptability ! Thanks for your hospitality, hope to see them again in future...
